This private 10-day Tibet itinerary invites travelers to explore a dynamic blend of sacred heritage and breathtaking nature across the Tibetan Plateau. Beginning in Lhasa, the Holy City, you’ll visit ancient monasteries, pristine alpine lakes, scenic valleys, and towering glaciers. Highlights include the legendary Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Yamdrok Lake, and a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Everest Base Camp. With a bilingual guide, highland-specific support like oxygen and water, and strict no-shopping policy, this tour is designed for a safe, immersive, and meaningful Tibet experience.
On the first day of the Tibet tour, you will arrive in Lhasa. We will pick you up and send you to the designated hotel to complete the check-in procedures.
Holy City Lhasa: Lhasa is an ancient city with a history of more than 1,300 years. As the political, economic, cultural and religious center of Tibet, it is also the "Holy City" in the hearts of the Tibetan people.

The best advice for you is to move around less, not take a bath, drink more water, eat until you are 80% full, so as to prevent the upcoming altitude sickness.

After having breakfast at the hotel, take a car along the Lhasa-Nyingchi Expressway and head to Nyingchi area. This is an ecological passage, a green corridor and a landscape avenue. On the way, visit the Xiuba Castle Cluster, which has a history of more than 1,600 years. It is the oldest, most historic, most densely clustered and best-preserved castle cluster in Tibet. Then come to the Sejila Mountain Pass, where you can overlook the majestic appearance of Mount Namcha Barwa.

In the morning, visit the Zhatangluzuo Lake and Alpine Pasture in the town. Then take a car to the Lulang Forest Sea Viewing Platform, where you can see a large area of plateau forests. After that, come to the Yani Wetland National Park. You can enjoy the infinite scenery of the wetland park on the glass plank road, which is one of the excellent natural scenic spots.

After having breakfast at the hotel, take a car to Basum Lake, which is known as the "Holy Lake of the Red Sect", a "National Forest Park", a "AAAAA-level Scenic Area" and the "Oriental Switzerland". Return to Lhasa for accommodation at night.

After having breakfast at the hotel, take a car to the Potala Palace, which is the highest-altitude palace in the world and a holy place of Tibetan Buddhism. Then go to the Jokhang Temple, a Tibetan Buddhist temple built in 647 AD, which enshrines the 12-year-old equal-sized statue of Sakyamuni brought into Tibet by Princess Wencheng. Then walk through the thousand-year-old prayer path of the Barkhor Street, which is the most prosperous commercial street in Lhasa built around the Jokhang Temple, permeated with a strong Tibetan cultural atmosphere.

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Yamdrok Lake (also known as "Yanghu"), one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. After that, pass by Karuola Glacier, the closest glacier to the highway on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The upper part of the glacier glows like a giant Thangka painting on the mountainside under the sunlight. Arrive in Shigatse for overnight stay in the evening.

After breakfast, depart from Shigatse and drive via Jiacuola Pass to reach Everest Base Camp (also known as Rongbuk Monastery Base Camp). This monastery, founded in 1899 by Nyingma sect lama Ngawang Tenzin Lobsang, accommodates both monks and nuns and sits at an altitude of 4,980 meters. It is the world’s highest-altitude monastery, located approximately 20 kilometers from Everest’s summit and recognized by mountaineering experts as the prime viewing spot for Qomolangma (Mount Everest). Qomolangma, meaning "Goddess Mother of the Earth" in Tibetan, is the highest peak in the Himalayas and the world. Arrive in Everest Town for overnight stay in the evening.

Depart from Everest Town in the morning and drive via Gyawula Pass. At the pass’s viewing platform, you can admire five 8,000-meter peaks: Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, Cho Oyu, and Xixabangma. Return to Shigatse for overnight stay in the evening.

Depart from the hotel in the morning to visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the six major Gelug monasteries in China. From a distance, the monastery appears built into the hillside, with its main complex featuring golden roofs, red walls, and a grand, imposing structure against the backdrop of mountains. Afterward, drive via Nyemo Canyon and return to Lhasa for overnight stay in the evening.

After having breakfast at the hotel, according to the flight time/train time, arrange the airport transfer/train station transfer to end the Tibet tour.
